• Honesty Hour: Closing a Chapter

Disclaimer: I wrote Honesty Hour: Closing a Chapter about 5 months ago but I’m just finally sharing it now. Sometimes you write things but it doesn’t feel like the right time to share it. Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of my grandmother’s passing & we’re about to sell the house. Today feels like the right time to share it with y’all… Honesty Hour: My family has spent the majority of the last six months emptying out my Grandpa & Grandma’s house after my Grandma’s death last summer.    It took 5 of us 5 hours to not even fully clean out the kitchen. We have spent days working in…

    Panama City Beach Vacation 2020

For years growing up, we always went to Panama City Beach (PCB) for vacation. I’m talking for about the first 15 years of my life. It was the first beach my feet touched. Well, I wasn’t a huge fan of the sand and would draw my feet up under me every time they touched but you get my point. Haha It’s been about 8 years since we’ve been back though. It’s one of those things that you think about with nostalgia and you want to go back and relive it. This year we finally did. We went to our top restaurants (and judged the hushpuppies at each place because we’re…

  • Baby in Bloom Baby Shower

I’m so excited to share the Baby in Bloom Baby Shower recap with y’all today! Back when my cousin announced that she was pregnant, Macy asked if she could throw her a baby shower. Fast forward a few months & we finally got to have the shower last Saturday. We were worried that we weren’t going to be able to have it with COVID & while we did have to change the date once or twice, we put it off as long as we possibly could without trying to pushing our luck in case Baby Girl came early. Thankfully, everything went off without a hitch! *We took extra precautions due…

  • Me posing for a photo at the end of the Peachtree Road Race

    #tbt Peachtree Road Race

I can’t believe it’s been 2 years since I ran (well, ran & walked, okay, a lot of walking) the Peachtree Road Race! In honor of that, I thought it would be fun to share a little throwback/recap of that experience. Even though I was not planning on partaking in it this year, I’m bummed that for the first time EVER it won’t actually be happening on the Fourth. It’ll be on Thanksgiving which is so weird to me! Anyway…let’s take a fun walk down memory lane! I’m honestly not sure I’ve ever seen the sunrise. Until today. I was up bright and early before the sun & got to…

2 Day Vacay to Panama City Beach

For YEARS, my family would vacation in Panama City Beach. We’d stay in the same condo around the same time of year. We’d eat at our same favorite restaurants. We’d spend 1 morning/early afternoon at Pier Park & spend the rest of our vacation sitting on the beach. It was glorious. Then…we got older, the owners sold their condo plus we wanted a change so we started going to different beaches. But one thing remained the same…our love for a particular restaurant: Liza’s Kitchen. It’s a sandwich shop right on the main drag of PCB (Panama City Beach) & it was walking distance from the condo we always stayed in.…

  • A Quarantine Birthday

Having a birthday during coronavirus is kinda weird. You definitely don’t celebrate how you normally would (at least we didn’t). But that doesn’t mean your birthday is going to be bad. For me, I was full of joy. In fact, my sister told me—before breakfast—that if it wasn’t my birthday, she would tell me to take it down a notch. My mom, on the other hand, had no problem telling me that (also before breakfast). I went & got Chick-Fil-A for breakfast because, duh, & one of my favorite songs came on the radio, I rolled the window down, cranked it up & danced & sang along. (That was also…

How to Create Your Family Album

There are a few (okay, technically 9) steps I take to create our family album & I’m going to share them all, plus a few secrets, with you now. One of my favorite things to do is to create these family albums. In all honesty, I tend to complete the previous year’s book when I’m at least a few months, if not half the year or more into the next one. Why I do that I have no idea. But either way, the book gets done & I love working on it & pouring myself, our photos, & memories into it. I hope you’re able to create your own, however…

  • Honesty Hour: And Here We Are…

I went to Target the other day. (Don’t judge me, it was for necessities.) It was weird being out among other people because that’s where things are at now: I feel odd being around people I don’t live with & am not related to. Most people had on masks which was weird to see even if it is the socially responsible thing to do. It’s hard. It’s hard to see that. It’s hard to see parking lots that are usually packed be completely empty. It’s hard to know what the world is going through. It’s hard to know that it hasn’t reached its worst in Georgia. It’s hard to imagine…

  • Focusing on the Positives

I had a whole blog post written & scheduled to be posted today but honestly, it just doesn’t feel right to share it given all that is happening in the world. So I’ll save it for later & write about something different today. I’ve been thinking about what would be a good post to write in a crazy time such as what we’re all dealing with right now & I haven’t come up with much, if I’m being entirely honest. Here’s what I have come up with: Reminding y’all to be kind to others during this time—especially on the Internet. Good grief people, use some manners & be kind. Everyone…

    Dogs & My Complete 180.

In the interest of completely sharing my life, there’s one part that I must share with y’all. Zoe. I might be am biased but she is just the cutest little dog! Until she’s covered in dirt, grass, or otherwise has done something else bad. Then she’s not that cute. haha She’s 5.5 years old. She’s a Yorkie Poodle mix and she completely, totally, 100% controls our life. I’m serious. If we’re going to be gone for more than a few hours a day, we have someone come check on her or stay with her for a little while. We don’t go on vacations unless she can go too. Even when…
