What’s In My Beach Bag?!

I have a multitude of beach bags. I love them. I’m all about trying out different ones to find the right fit for you & your trip.

I’ve tried big bags, small bags, no pockets, tons of pockets, canvas, (whatever type is easy to clean), burlap. I’ve tried it all! And sometimes I change it up with every trip I take.

But you know what doesn’t change?

What goes IN my beach bag. That stays consistent.

Now that the country & our beaches are opening back up & people are starting to go to the beach I thought it’d be a good time to share what’s in my beach bag!

I use a burlap/canvas beach bag that I love but it doesn’t have any pockets in it. It’s wide open inside so I have to get creative with keeping things organized & keeping some things away from the sand that can get in your beach bag.

All of these things work for a pool day too!

What's In My Beach Bag? All of these items!

What’s In My Beach Bag: The Obvious

A towel. Duh. We’re HUGE Vera Bradley fans in my family so I’ve received a couple as gifts & those are the ones that I always have with me. They’re nice & long, which if you know me in real life, you’re probably thinking that’s relative because I’m quite short. But anyway, I think they’re nice & long & they’re cozy. Vera Bradley for life!

Sunscreen. Pretty obvious why I have this on me at all times.

Chapstick. I am that person who has a purse chapstick, a wallet chapstick, a living room chapstick, and a downstairs chapstick. I can NOT be without chapstick. There’s a chance I might actually fall apart if I don’t have some on me at all times. Let’s not find out if I do or not. 🙂

What's in my beach bag? Chapstick. Blistex is THE best.

-Water. I am also that person who has water on me at all times. Going to grab Chick-Fil-A for lunch? I take my cup of water with me. For the beach, I fill up a big tumbler with plenty of ice & water & then bring an extra water bottle with me.

-A hat. Eventually my face needs a break from the sun & I also don’t want to get too much sun on my face so I wear my cute monogrammed ball cap. It’s perfect!

What’s In My Beach Bag: The Not-So-Obvious

-Camera. Yep. I carry a camera with me. Not my big camera but a smaller one so that way I can take some photos & document our time on the beach.

-A book. Have we met?! OF COURSE I have a book. And if I’m about to finish a book, I have another with me. I shared my ideal beach read (link on those words) but depending on whether or not I’m home by the pool depends on what type of book I’m reading. If you need some recommendations, I’ve got a bunch for you!

Sand Spiker. This is perfect for the beaches in the Gulf of Mexico because it’s soft. You stick it in the ground & it holds your cup. I love mine & ALWAYS take it to the beach with me. I take it & use it even when I’m on the Atlantic side so no worries, it works everywhere. And isn’t it cute?! I got mine from Etsy a few years ago.

Keepin’ It Organized!

Now that you know what I bring in my beach bag, you might be wondering how I keep it organized & keep my stuff that doesn’t need to be in the sand, out of the sand.

I use a variety of bags. Are these bags? Maybe they should be called pouches? Either way. I use a few of them.

Photo of a bag that my sunscreen goes in that then goes into my beach bag

My camera goes in one bag. My chapstick & sunscreen goes in one. Then my cell phone & room key goes in another. (Unless it’s a hotel key card. In my experience, those don’t like being next to cell phones. They tend to stop working. I’ve got an embarrassing story of that for another day. Haha)

What's in My Beach Bag? My camera & cell phone!

Everything else just hangs out in my beach bag.

There you have it! That’s everything that goes in my beach bag!

Tell me below in the comments: what’s in your beach bag? Is there anything I’m missing?
